Electronic consultation (eConsult) is a strategy becoming increasingly utilized to expand access to specialty care in rural and underserved communities, where provider shortages and long wait times can delay diagnosis and treatment. This session will share how a region-wide implementation strategy across the Central Valley helped FQHCs integrate eConsult to streamline referrals, strengthen communication with specialists, and improve clinical outcomes for patients—which contributed to the successful submission of more than 1,000 eConsults for 20 specialty areas in Fresno County alone.
