North Rural E-Consult Coalition September 2021 Monthly Meeting

The NREC meets every month to share best practices and use cases of the effectiveness of e-Consult. This month’s webinar included a discussion with Marc Avdalovic, MD, MAS, FCCP and James Marcin, MD, MPH from UC Davis, who shared the provider perspective on value of e-Consult. Dr. Avdalovic has clinical interests in pulmonary and critical care, and is very active in the clinical and research applications of the electronic health record (EHR). He believes that the core of high-level specialty care is effective communication with patients, their families and referring physicians. Dr. Marcin practices in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the UC Davis Children’s Hospital, and is Director of the Center for Health and Technology and leads the telemedicine program. Dr. Marcin is particularly interested in how telemedicine consultations can help in the care of seriously ill pediatric patients in remote hospitals, emergency departments and inpatient wards.
